Homeschool Classes Description
Hands-on Enrichment: Mondays 9:15-10:45 AM or Tuesdays 12:45-2:15 PM
This class is a fun and educational class, where students make hands-on projects to take home while learning about science, art and cultures. This spring's topics are Influential Black Figures, Nature's Journey, and April Showers Bring May Flowers. Kids will learn about some amazing African American individuals who were influential in arts, science and civil rights; they will explore the diversity of life through the eyes of natural selection, and will complete spring-themed science and art projects.

Creative Stitches: Mondays 11:15-12:45 or Tuesdays 11:15-12:45
In this heavily hands-on class, students learn about conservation of natural resources through sewing. This class is geared towards boys and girls alike. Creative Stitches is not just about sewing, but an application of ecological and mathematical concepts as students learn how to manipulate a sewing machine, hand-sew, and design to make creative fabric projects.
Math & Logic: Mondays 1-2 PM or Tuesdays 9:30-10:30 AM
Students will learn mathematical concepts applicable to their grade level through lessons, worksheets and hands-on activities. This spring, we will focus on number sense and operations, algebraic reasoning and geometric reasoning.

Art: Wednesdays 9:15-10:45 AM
Students will learn to recognize and utilize different mediums and techniques to express themselves through visual art. Students will learn about composition and will be introduced to shading techniques.

Reading/Writing: Wednesdays 11:15 AM-12:15 PM
Students will learn and practice their communication skills through lessons on reading, writing and vocabulary at their appropriate grade level.

Science: Wednesdays 12:30-2 PM
Class includes a short lesson and lab time where students apply the scientific concepts learned by performing hands-on activities. This spring term we will focus on the process of science, measurements, the organization and development of living organisms, and the properties of matter.
